We’d like to share our new scheme for room 405 at The Soho Hotel, where you’re met with a sense of calm and tranquillity from the moment you arrive…
A turquoise fabric has been used on the walls and this brings about a feeling of joy, just like the blue skies of a sunny day.
A fun touch has been incorporated through the fabric on this statement headboard which certainly commands attention. A classic traditional print, its design is inspired by a manor house in Yorkshire, England from the 1500s. Its undulating vines add movement and the overall aesthetic is modernised through lively colours.
Floor to ceiling windows overlook the views of Soho’s bustling Wardour Street as well as a beautiful mosaic that we commissioned Maggy Howarth to create. Maggie is well known for her original designs and decorative floorscapes and often uses an upside down fabrication technique to ensure a flat, yet textured surface.
The headboard’s pops of canard blue and cherry reds have been accented in durable wool combinations throughout the bedroom to create balance and harmony.
As with all of our bedrooms, you’ll find artwork within. We have carefully curated pieces to complement the colour scheme and add layers of playfulness. We especially love the pig and sheep with their funky frames!
An Edward sofa has been upholstered in our Chubby Check fabric for Christopher Farr, adding a contemporary flare. The combination of this geometric print with the traditional Chelsea Textiles fabric framed above creates the perfect juxtaposition.
Adding different textures is important in our bedrooms and hints of sophistication can often be added through stud details on upholstery items. In this scheme, shiny nickel studs create a contrast against the rich blue of the tub chairs. An elegant glimmer that catches the eye!
Packing a refreshing punch is our much-loved fabric Peace and Love for Christopher Farr. This is our go-to fabric design when scheming a fresh and contemporary look. We have used the fabric’s green colourway for the curtains, cushions as well as a border around the headboard.
We hope you enjoyed exploring this new scheme with us at The Soho Hotel. See more of our hotel interiors in our ‘Sleeping Around’ blog posts here.
