For this ‘Sleeping Around’ blog post we visit Room 217 at Ham Yard Hotel. Join us and explore this simple yet impactful scheme which we have recently completed…
From the moment you arrive in this room, a sense of calm is instilled. Although neutral in tone, the walls have a rich texture as we have used an oatmeal toned linen. It creates a smart background to the seating area. For the sofa, we have used our own design Lost and Found for Christopher Farr in the Indigo colourway. The large orange sofa cushions are complemented by artwork in matching frames. See our blog Funky Frames – Fun Ways to Elevate Your Art for some tried and tested ideas to help you get funky with your frames.
We have used the same weave fabric as the back of the tub chairs to adorn an end of bed stool (EBS) as well as a handle chair. The devil is in the details and on this occasion, we have introduced nickel studding as well as orange piping which separates the fabric from a blue leather top.
Thank you for exploring this calm and sophisticated scheme at Ham Yard Hotel. Explore more of our hotel schemes with our series of ‘Sleeping Around’ blog posts here.
Our curtains bring this scheme together and allow the seating area’s other blue and orange textiles to sing, whilst paying homage to the wall’s neutral tones.
The tub chairs have been upholstered in a combination of two fabrics. We often do this as it creates a layer of depth as well as creating an element of fun and surprise. A burnt orange fabric with a geometric design has been used on the front of the chairs. Continuing the thread of the scheme, we have upholstered the back of the tub chairs with a striped design, separated by navy blue piping.
Move across the room and you’ll find the bed’s headboard which has been upholstered in a design that evokes the shape of palm trees. The ink blue and orange colours of this pattern along with the textured background creates a marble-like effect.
