Welcome to Room 902 at Crosby Street Hotel. The scheme for this sunny and refreshing room all began with Nina Campbell’s Ashdown Stripe fabric, which we’ve used for the curtains and bed cushions. We also added a hot pink leather piping to the bed cushions that mirror the headboard’s border. This gives a frame-like effect to the headboard and cushions, adding definition to the room.
We loved the cheerful colours and whimsical shapes of Nina Campbell’s fabric so much that it inspired us to create a custom appliqué headboard. We cut and embroidered leaves and flowers, and we used four brightly coloured wools and threads. We love how the leaves and flowers float lazily down the headboard.
We hope you’ve enjoyed exploring this calm and colourful new scheme at Room 902. Explore Crosby Street Hotel further with Kit’s tour of The Meadow Suite here.
We’ve used a turquoise linen on the walls and a matching parquet wool for the bed valance, window seat cushions and desk chair. Use of this colour grounds the room and creates a relaxed feeling. Pops of hot pink add the perfect contrast, which we have incorporated with the kick-pleats of the bed skirt as well as the piping and buttons on the window cushions. Kit Kemp’s Ikat Weave for Christopher Farr is the perfect companion to the scheme. Its bold brushes of pink, lime green and orange boldly cover the end of bed stool, mannequin and armchairs. This weave is incredibly sturdy and makes a lively statement.
