Our Bergdorf Goodman Refresh

On the seventh floor at Bergdorf Goodman, New York, Kit Kemp Design Studio has a jewel box full of treasures and we have just given the space a complete refresh. Join us as we explore this new scheme…

We have adorned the walls with our Papillion Wallpaper. This delightful design encompasses willow trees that dance with blooming powder-pink roses and burnt orange butterflies, against chalky teal skies. Paired with the ‘Hotline’ rug from our Annie Selke collection, the space feels vibrant and dreamy.

We wanted to display some of our headboards this time, so we designed a custom daybed covered in our ‘Live It Up’ fabric for Christopher Farr Cloth. A raspberry wool fabric was used for the bedskirt and headboard’s leading edge, which ties-in with the surrounding furnishings.

Appliqué flowers designed by Natasha Hulse come to life on the headboard, bringing depth and texture. It feels at home with the floral wallpaper behind.

To elevate the space further, we painted the cabinets and skirting in a deep teal. This frames the wallpaper and allows the details painted in hibiscus pink to pop from the shelves and cabinets. We filled the shelves with goodies by Mimi de Biarritz as well as pillows in bespoke Pippa Caley patterns and Christopher Farr fabrics. Mimi’s bird houses are particularly fun and joyful – find them while you can and start your own collection!

Birds are not the only animals Mimi creates shelters for and we also have her cat beds available for sale. A pampered pet would sleep well in these beautifully designed houses.

This stunning bench painted by Melissa White sits opposite the bed. The details tell a story and you can lift the lid for a little surprise!

Members of our Design Studio also got crafty and hand painted these lampshades. Visit Design Threads: Decorative Painting at Home for our tips on how to transform your home with the power of paint.

Thank you so much for stopping by and exploring our newly refreshed shop. If you can’t make it to New York and dive head first into this box of treasures, head over to Shop Kit Kemp where you’ll also find unique works of art to add to your collection.
