Our Spode Launch in New York – Part One

Collaborations

This week in New York we launched an exciting new collection: Kit Kemp for Spode. Featuring a comprehensive and colourful array of tableware and gifts for the home, the launch was the culmination of more than a year’s work. I’m incredibly proud to see it come to life. From initial ideas and sketches to revisions and tweaks to ensure that the colour palette was just right, it’s been a journey filled with collaboration, craft and a shared appreciation for good design.

Founded in 1770, Spode is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected brands and I’ve always loved its inspirational designs. The distinctive ‘blue and white’ pattern that Spode is so well known for has graced homes across the country for more than 250 years. To have an opportunity to bring a contemporary twist to the collection and be a part of that history is a real privilege.

We launched the collection at in the Spode Showroom  in New York and I wanted to share with you a sneak peek at how it all unfolded.

The Spode showroom was transformed by my talented Design Studio team and was, of course, filled with colour, pattern and craft.

On Wednesday evening Spode hosted a cocktail reception at their showroom. It was a pleasure to meet some of the wonderful retailers who will hopefully be stocking the collection (watch this space!) and raise a glass with the Spode team, who we’ve worked so closely with over the last year.

You can shop the full collection at Shop Kit Kemp. I can’t wait to hear what you think.

Our celebrations continued at The Whitby Hotel the following morning with an exclusive media showcase. Here, our Design Studio decorated the hotel’s top floor Whitby Suite with the collection’s beautifully crafted tableware, elegant glassware and armfuls of flowers. To see the highlights, click here.
