Last week we hosted a series of launch events in New York for our new Kit Kemp for Spode collection, starting with a party at the Spode Showroom in New York as part of the Tabletop Show. Our celebrations continued at The Whitby Hotel the following morning with an exclusive media showcase. Here, our Design Studio decorated the hotel’s top floor Whitby Suite with the collection’s beautifully crafted tableware, elegant glassware and armfuls of flowers.

Guests were greeted by our Alphabet Mugs placed on one of our plank coffee tables in the suite’s drawing room. The mugs feature richly coloured lettering, illustrated with an array of fantastical creatures and curiosities.

Evoking a sense of romance, we created a full tablescape with our Tall Trees and Geo collections…

Tall Trees is a celebration of craft, featuring a hand painted woodland scene translated across a full tableware collection. Applied to dinner plates, side plates and bowls, Tall Trees works on its own or in combination with the sleek graphics and contemporary colours of Geo, creating a myriad of modern and eclectic tablescapes.

In contrast to Tall Trees, the Geo collection marries gentle geometry which, when used on its own, delivers a contemporary narrative for a modern everyday table.

Our Doodles Collection is designed by Willow Kemp. These fun and characterful items were displayed in the suite’s antique Swedish cabinet. The collection features sketches that celebrate uplifting everyday moments. We think they will make you smile!

We also offered a sneak peek of our Christmas Doodles collection. Each piece features a hand painted sketch brimming with humour. The collection includes mugs ready for steaming hot chocolate with marshmallows!

Throughout the collection, you’ll also find Christmas ornaments, round ceramic baubles and mannequins that will make unique and festive Christmas displays. Here, they were hung from branches arranged by floral designer Lewis Miller.

We transformed The Whitby Suite’s outdoor terrace with our colourful Calypso collection – launching later this year! This collection makes it easy to mix and match colours and create vibrant tablescapes. We loved how the Always Greener Cobalt/Green and Red/Yellow cushions from our collection with Annie Selke complemented the setting.
