With Wimbledon starting next week, we’ve been getting crafty in anticipation of the most anticipated tennis tournament of the year. On today’s blog, see what we’ve been up to and how you can join us for the Wimbledon celebrations.

To kick off our Wimbledon preparations, we started a fun craft activity using tennis balls, fluorescent string, an extra-large needle, and an old tennis racquet.

We threaded the string through all the balls, creating a medallion-style necklace. Shown below on our models at the Design Studio.

We needed a very tall ladder to place the necklace on our large bronze cat by Botero at The Soho Hotel.

Luckily, our Botero cat at Charlotte Street Hotel is a little smaller!

Our love for the game doesn’t end with tennis ball medallions. Join us for one of our summer events as we celebrate Wimbledon and live stream the matches on a big screen for a fortnight of drama and British elegance at Ham Yard’s ‘Centre-Courtyard.’ We’ll be streaming matches daily from 11am under the open sky, where you can indulge in a gourmet picnic hamper featuring a traditional British Afternoon Tea.

Enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, sausage rolls, and fluffy scones with clotted cream and preserves. Look forward to other classic treats like strawberry tarts, Pimms-Swiss rolls, and Champagne or cocktails made with Sipsmith, the official gin of Wimbledon.
