The festive season can’t come soon enough for us this year and during lockdown we have been preparing for Christmas.
The atmosphere in Ham Yard Hotel’s courtyard is so enchanting, with the celestial meandering path and four majestic oak trees, adorned with twinkling lights. Come in and we will show you what treats we have been cooking up…
The magic happens in the kitchen, which is a hive of activity especially at this time of year. It has become a tradition to make a gingerbread village, which has become more and more elaborate year on year. Our pastry chefs start planning months before.
Here are some of our favourite gingerbread designs from Christmases past…
Our chefs chose to display this joyous church with its brightly coloured bell tower close to the kitchen, so they could view our guest’s reactions.
This arresting country farmhouse nestled in the Library caused quite a stir.
The detail is quite incredible!
The village wouldn’t be complete without a hotel, with my ‘Rick Rack’ fabric design emblazoned as a mural on the side!
Children and adults were fascinated by this village with a train track in the entrance. The step that runs along the Crittall windows acts as a plinth and is the perfect display.
The village grew a year later with a train track connecting each intricately detailed home and Santa’s workshop…
The merry Christmas tree will guide you downstairs, to the private dining rooms, where you can lead your own festivities how you like…
I love how the Joe Tilson prints on the wall and the brightly coloured crackers designed with my ‘Ozone’ fabric, pop from the monochrome wallpapered walls, the perfect backdrop to dinner with your friends.
Get merry, prepare for Santa to come down the chimney and let’s give 2020 a proper send-off!
