Tucked away in the eaves, Room 315 at Covent Garden Hotel feels like a little jewel box above the bustle of the city. Buttery yellow sits alongside deep ocean blues, creating a fresh and uplifting palette, with touches of the English countryside woven throughout this cosy loft retreat.
A warm yellow envelops the walls, bringing a sense of light and warmth to the room from the moment you wake. The curtains, upholstered in our Inside Out fabric with Christopher Farr, continue the golden thread. Its subtle pattern and texture read almost as a plain, allowing the fabric to blend effortlessly with the walls. The effect gives the room a wonderful sense of space, while retaining the softness and layering that make a bedroom feel inviting.
Our Flora headboard and mannequin are upholstered in our Heart of Oak design, created with Rosebank Fabrics. Intertwining, hand drawn oak leaves form loose, irregular hearts, painted in vivid turquoise and ocean blues with flashes of bright yellow. The palette echoes the changing colours of sea and sky as they catch the sunlight.
Beneath the country painting, a blue and white striped sofa brings a crisp, tailored note to the room. The classic stripe has a familiar country house quality, adding to the feeling of a bedroom that feels both considered and comfortably lived in.
As always, it is the details that bring the room together. A flash of yellow piping, a tailored kick pleat, a sliver of decorative tape or a vase of freshly cut flowers give the eye plenty to discover.
These small touches add depth and personality, creating a room that reveals something new the longer you look.
For a little summer all year round, Room 315 at Covent Garden Hotel is a cheerful retreat above the city, offering a welcome escape from the winter blues.
