From the moment you step inside Room 103, you are greeted by floor-to-ceiling sash windows overlooking the tree-lined Beaufort Gardens. The abundance of natural light fills the room, enhancing its calm and cheerful atmosphere. Soft sky-blue walls provide a fresh, tranquil backdrop, creating a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of the city.
The bed forms the focal point of the room, framed by our sculptural Flora headboard, upholstered in Knight’s Tale in Green from our collection with GP & J Baker. The same fabric has been used for the bed cushions and mannequin, creating a visual thread that runs throughout the scheme. Wide nickel studding and a turquoise-blue wool border give the headboard a crisp, tailored finish.
That same turquoise-blue wool continues onto the bed valance and end-of-bed stool, quietly connecting the different elements of the room without overpowering the scheme.
Blue and green make a naturally harmonious pairing, echoing the colours found in the landscape around us. Here, the combination of sky blue and leafy green brings an immediate sense of calm and balance, making the room feel both uplifting and restful.
Opposite the bed sit two Min’s Tub Chairs, upholstered in Tight Rope, one of our playful striped fabrics from our collection with GP & J Baker. The cheerful stripe also appears as piping on the bed cushions, adding another small detail to the scheme.
For the curtains, we used our Rick Rack Printed Embroidered fabric in a new colourway with Christopher Farr Cloth. Its rhythmic geometric pattern introduces a fresh graphic element to the room, balancing the more narrative quality of Knight’s Tale. Mixing conversational prints with structured geometrics is one of our favourite ways to create a scheme that feels layered and full of life. Here, the contrast allows each fabric to stand out while bringing the overall scheme together.
Throughout the room, thoughtful details and carefully chosen fabrics come together to create a space that feels welcoming, comfortable and full of character. Room 103 celebrates the art of storytelling through design, combining colour, pattern and craftsmanship to create a joyful retreat in the heart of London. We hope you have the opportunity to experience it for yourself.
