Sleeping Around

Step into Room 501 at the Soho Hotel, where vibrant oranges and blues lift the space and offer a fresh hint of spring’s joyful palette...

Come and join us today for another instalment of Sleeping Around. This time, we are delighted to share Room 501 at The Soho Hotel, a celebration of oranges and blues that bring the space to life and offer our first glimpse of spring’s uplifting palette.

At centre stage sits a hand-blocked floral headboard in greens, blues and oranges, setting the tone and spirit of the room. The large-scale florals, with their generous white breathing space, feel like a painted oil canvas, expressive yet beautifully balanced.

We chose our Sam Headboard for this scheme, where the interplay of sharp lines and gentle curves creates a striking focal point and lends a sense of grandeur to the room. Bold nickel studding adds confident definition, while the solid orange surround frames the headboard beautifully, bringing warmth and depth to the space.

Drawing out the greens and blues from the Jean Monro floral fabric, we have upholstered the surrounding furniture in complementary plains. This thoughtful pairing creates harmony and introduces a sense of calm to the space.

For a considered finishing touch, pops of orange appear in the piping and kick pleats of the bed valance, adding subtle rhythm and cohesion.

The walls are dressed in orange linen which, whatever the season, creates a warm, welcoming cocoon as you enter, enveloping the upholstery and enhancing the room’s glow.

The sofa and Handle Chair, wonderfully versatile pieces, are upholstered in Busy Lizzie, a contemporary small-scale fabric that adds interest without overwhelming the scheme. From a distance, it reads almost as a plain, yet up close it reveals a lively energy that enriches the space.

The curtains introduce another layer of texture and freshness. Set against a crisp white ground, the embroidered fabric keeps the room feeling light and vibrant, while the detailing adds depth and refinement.

The antique wardrobe is more than a piece of furniture, it is a jewel within the room. It transforms a hotel stay into something that feels like home, inviting you to linger a little longer and imagine the stories painted across its doors.

We hope you have enjoyed stepping into this room at The Soho Hotel, a space that opens onto a brighter, softer part of the day. For more Sleeping Around blogs, you can explore our other stories here.
