Room 309 at Ham Yard Hotel

Sleeping Around

Step into Room 309 at Ham Yard Hotel, a vibrant celebration of colour and craft...

Step inside Room 309 at Ham Yard Hotel, where bold pattern and vibrant colour meet a calm, light-filled space. A playful mix of textures and prints brings the room to life, while thoughtful layers create a sense of harmony and comfort.

The walls are dressed in a raffia wallcovering inspired by North African motifs, perfectly accenting the colours in the headboard fabric. Bursting with colour and alive with animals and foliage, the headboard makes a striking statement. Set against the pale wallcovering, the effect is reminiscent of a negative print, where the interplay of scale and spacing strikes just the right balance without overwhelming the eye.

Moving into the room, a heavyweight blue weave grounds the space with comfort and calm. Its simple texture provides an anchor, allowing the headboard and cushions to take centre stage. For the curtains, a crisp cream was chosen, flooding the space with natural light.

On closer inspection, the details shine through: a smart embroidered border along the curtain edge, and bold contrast piping on the sofa in shades of blue and green. It is these thoughtful touches that bring the room to life.

Opposite the bed, two Polly chairs upholstered in the same fabric as the headboard reinforce the sense of cohesion and storytelling within the space.

Adding further contrast, a pair of artworks bring additional bursts of colour against the raffia walls, keeping the mood lively and cheerful. The prints offer a nod to the handcrafted aesthetic we so value in our interiors.
