Step inside Room 110 at Charlotte Street Hotel, where double-height ceilings and a mezzanine-level bedroom create a romantic, cosy retreat for guests.
The star of the space is the striking Constantinople wallpaper by Andrew Martin. This intricate design depicts an ancient city map, complete with ships, towns, and lush vegetation. To accommodate the suite’s impressive 5-meter-high ceiling, we enlarged the scale of the wallpaper, making it even more captivating.
The windows are dressed in our Travelling Light fabric, part of our Christopher Farr collection. In the green colourway, this fabric is inspired by traditional Kilim designs but with a modern twist. Its intricate patterns on a neutral background make it versatile, adding character without overwhelming the space.
For the living area’s upholstery, we played with colour and texture. The tub chairs are upholstered in four different wools, pulling shades from the wallpaper for a fun, block-colour effect.
The sofa features our Chubby Check fabric, piped in vibrant orange. This playful design, inspired by an antique blanket, works beautifully in both vertical and horizontal applications, with delicate woven lines guiding the eye. The scatter cushions in Chubby Check and Travelling Light bring continuity, while a standout appliqué design showcases a ship, echoing the boats in the wallpaper—a perfect nod to the details that define the suite.
Upstairs, the bedroom’s centerpiece is a scalloped headboard, upholstered in a playful, multi-coloured stripe with lines and dots. The burnt orange wool on the headboard’s edges highlights its shape, while wide-spread nickel studding adds a modern touch. To complete the look, we upholstered the end-of-bed stool in the same fabric, creating a seamless flow throughout the room.
The bed cushions continue the travel theme, featuring hand-cut appliqué sailing boats that tie into the wallpaper’s design.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this tour of the Loft Suite at Charlotte Street Hotel. The attention to detail and playful elements combine to create a space that’s both elegant and inviting.
