Introducing Room 201 at Dorset Square Hotel, a perfectly proportioned Georgian townhouse that sits in the heart of Marylebone. In true Regency style, the rooms have large sash windows, allowing daylight to pour in and make the fabrics truly sing!
A Kit Kemp designed bedroom is never complete without a statement headboard, and this one’s been upholstered in a more traditional Brunswick & Fils fabric. The branching shape of the headboard mimics the undulating vines of the print, bringing it to life in a way that a simpler shape wouldn’t be able to.
We often use the depth of the headboard to create contrast and here we’ve picked a rich wool that pulls out a beautiful shade of blue found in the fabric. You’ll also find this fabric carried through to the valance.
White painted furniture and bed linen add further freshness to the room helping to create balance and calm. We particularly love the bedspread. Its scalloped edges contrast playfully with the bed valance and its stitching details add texture and cosiness. For those wanting to recreate the look, the bedspread is available to purchase from Shop Kit Kemp.
The walls have been covered in a calming lime green fabric that has just enough zing in it to make it feel energising too. With soft fibres and a subtle texture it creates a cosy backdrop for the space.
The curtain fabric colour echoes the walls adds freshness with its neutral tones. The flowing vertical ferns help to accentuate the tall ceilings and window.
The tub chairs have been upholstered in our ‘Lost & Found’ fabric for Christopher Farr. Nickel studs follow and emphasise the curves and contours of the chair, adding a smart finishing touch.
