Step inside this green and blue oasis at Charlotte Street Hotel – a cheerful yet calming scheme that transports you far from the busy streets of London. Room 206 has recently been refurbished and we can’t wait to show it off.
Adorning the walls is lime green linen by Nobilis. It is a lovely zesty backdrop and a colour that we are very much in love with at the moment. The scalloped headboard takes centre stage in the room and has been upholstered in this beautiful fabric called Arcos by Carolina Irving. The small scale pattern has a wonderfully delicate painterly effect in ocean coloured hues of curling vines, flowers and sweet little birds.
The small tub chair beside the Chelsea Textiles bedside table has also been upholstered in the headboard fabric. We have added a complementing tape around the bottom of the chair which subtly prevents the chair from becoming lost in the room. Either side of the chair is a navy leather tassel which is a fun detail we like to add.
To dress the window, we have used yet another Carolina Iriving textile called Arcos Stripe, which pairs beautifully with the headboard and tub chair fabric. It isn’t usual that we use matching designs from the same textile designer – however in this case we couldn’t resist.
Surrounding the headboard, we have used a bright pink linen on the depth. This really makes the headboard come alive and pop off the wall. The widespread nickel studding further highlights the scalloped shape, framing it like a piece of art.
The bed cushions have been made up in another fabric by Carolina Irving called Zig Zag. The imperfect geometric design goes perfectly with the more floral headboard fabric. We have piped the cushions in the same pink as the headboard border, creating a unified look.
In a room with lots of pattern, it is vital to bring in some solids. On the two armchairs, we have used our favourite weave by Pierre Frey called Arsene, in a combination of green and blue and piped in the same hot pink.
We highly recommend combining fabrics on armchairs if you want to give a chair a new lease of life – it is a fun design trait that makes them truly unique.
We hope you enjoy this room as much as we do!
Hung adjacent to the bed, two golden tapestries depict blossom and swooping birds. They combine wonderfully with the fabrics in the room – it is a true sanctuary.
