The sun is shining in Apartment 1 at One Denman Place, Ham Yard Hotel’s adjoining residencies. You can feel the warmth coming through the floor-to-ceiling Crittall windows, overlooking the 30-foot oak trees in the courtyard below.
Each apartment at One Denman Place is individually designed to create its own distinctive vibe. This means there is a perfect apartment for every type of discerning guest.
The feel in Apartment 1 is refreshing and “zesty”. I love the contrast between my ‘Mud Print’ wallpaper in the Pearl colourway and the lively green, orange and yellow tones throughout the space.
The neutral background softens the more acidic colours, making the space look contemporary and bright.
The curtains are in a punchy design by Pierre Frey. The geometric pattern reminds us of the traditional Aztec textiles.
The sofas are upholstered in my ‘Bookends’ embroidered wool for Christopher Farr Cloth in the Sunset colourway, making the apartment cosy and inviting.
We have introduced some earthy elements such as our ‘Three Plank’ coffee table in oak, the terracotta lamps and a cast-iron pendant. Together, all of these elements make the room feel more organic.
As both patterns are graphic and bold, the rest of the fabrics can be more understated but equally charming. We used a large grey and orange check for the armchairs, a striped linen by Manuel Canovas for the wing chairs, and a plain herringbone on the handle chairs around the dining table.
In the bedroom, we chose a neutral linen for the walling and used the same lime green colour palette on the headboard. The pattern by Brunschwig & Fils is full of movement and introduces a touch of joy to this fresh and bright bedroom.
