We call Covent Garden Hotel the ‘Grande Dame’ of Firmdale Hotels. Once an old French hospital, the hotel has a more traditional aesthetic with heritage ‘treasures’ hidden within our rooms.

In Room 110, we wanted to capture the glamour of the golden days without creating a pastiche of the past.

The traditional four poster bed, writing desk, ornate artworks and the enormous antique mirror are mixed with fresh and contemporary fabrics.

This room is a serene escape from the lively streets of London below.

The soothing cool blue linen on the walls by Osborne & Little exists in a perfect shade in this airy room. It has large dual aspect windows, which means the room is filled with the changing light throughout the day.

Throughout the room, we have introduced pops of bright pink to lift the scheme. The antique cane armchair is covered in a powerful pink and red Schumacher Red Hook fabric, a modern twist on a more traditional needlepoint style.

On the four-poster bed, the blue interiors are in a soft patterned linen by Borderline, reminiscent of blue skies.

The outer tester and curtains are lined in a smart Vaughan linen with silk embroidered medallions in all shades of blue. The lighter linen creates a beautiful contrast with the dark mahogany bed frame.
