Covent Garden Hotel is situated on a cobbled street, a delightful walk from London’s top theatres, shops, restaurants and The Royal Opera House.
The Terrace Suite in the eaves of the hotel is a perfect spot for a summer escape. Walking into this whimsical room you are surrounded by bookshelves brimming with books.
The colour palette draws inspiration from the bold colours of the spectacular hand block fabric of flowers and birds from Hazelton House.
This fabric is a tribute to John Fowler, of Colefax and Fowler – he and Nancy Lancaster are considered the ‘inventors’ of Country House Style. This fabric has been used on the sofa in the drawing room and on the headboard in the bedroom.
Picking out the terracotta and contrasting teal hues we have used a rusty red small-scale pattern on the walls and a rich teal chenille on the armchairs, both by Nina Campbell. These add a layer of texture to the room and contrast with the dramatic and traditional design of the main fabric.
The Terrace Suite takes its name from the beautiful terrace located off the drawing room. After a day of exploring London, enjoy the sunshine in this gorgeous hideout overlooking the London rooftops.
The suite is an unexpected mix of traditional English patterns and contemporary embroideries and weaves. The curtains are in a heavily embroidered Mulberry linen, complementing the valance in a fresh over-stitched relief check linen by Pierre Frey.
In the bedroom, an eclectic antique writing desk adds character, inviting our guests to take a seat and write to loved ones.
