In Room 410 at The Soho Hotel we have created a room which celebrates the vibrant colours and textures of a collection of fabulous artisan textiles.
The statement headboard is covered in an intricately handwoven fabric paired with matching cushions.
This wonderful fabric is created by one of our favourite brands, A Rum Fellow. They work with women in Guatemala who weave in their own special way. Their unique style fits perfectly with our ethos of celebrating artisans and craftsmen in all their different forms.
The red piping on a dark-blue wool upholstered sofa and the studded red leather-topped chair with a base in Teasel Herringbone add an English touch to a scheme which is inspired by the colours of these wonderful Guatemalan fabrics.
The vibrant threads weaving through the headboard and cushions are complemented by Manuel Canovas’s chunky, vibrant red fabric on the armchairs and Jim Thompson’s graphic fabric on the curtains.
The most special part of creating different schemes for nearly all our bedrooms, is that we have so many opportunities to work with new, exciting and unusual brands including these talented artisans all the way from Guatemala.
