One Way or Another

One Way is a graphic and bold fabric design from my collection for Christopher Farr Cloth. The large scale, geometric print is an illusion in itself depending on how you plan to use it. We love to upholster our interior walls in One Way as it heightens the room, lending depth to the space with its diagonal arrow shaped pattern repeat. This design is available as a fabric and also raffia wallcovering, and comes in an array of colourways which are combinations of complementary colours.

In room 106 at Charlotte Street Hotel we have used the ‘Rose’ colourway on the Raffia wallcovering. This is a double height suite and the One Way walling draws your eye up to the ceiling as you enter the space, highlighting the height of the room.

At Covent Garden Hotel, we have used the Lemon colourway of One Way on the curtains. In this room the curtains add freshness to the space as they stand out against the sophisticated blue, grey tones on the walls.

In Apartment 8 at Ham Yard Hotel, we have upholstered the walls in the fabric design which adds a luxury feel to the generous drawing room. The Lemon colourway gives this space a real zing and sharpness. We have followed the walling fabric through onto the curtains which gives the illusion there is more space than there actually is! Down the leading edge of the curtains we have used Small Way, which is the small scale version of this design from the same collection. As you know, we love to play with scale in the hotel interiors.

In The Crosby Bar in New York, we have used the ‘One Way’ wallpaper in the Apricot Colourway which works wonderfully with the banquette seating Stripe fabric by Gaston Y Daniella.

In a recently refurbished flat in Chelsea, the walls are covered in the indigo colourway, which gives the space a cool, fresh finish. This residential project does not have as high ceilings as some of the public areas in the hotels; but ‘One Way’ adds a sense of added space within a room.

At Ham Yard Hotel in the Soholistic Nail Bar, you can find a feature wall in the Hot Pink colourway, which frames two pedicure chairs in our ‘Ikat Weave’. Again, we have played with scale by using the Small Way fabric design on the cushions. We designed a perspex display unit which mimics the One Way design. This provides a screen to the guests having treatments and holds our range of nail polish and an abundance of towels.

This design is not only fun, it is also tailored and smart, allowing you to play with the proportions of a room.
