As our minds turn to spring and with Mother’s Day just around the corner, we have cooked up the perfect gift edit to mark the occasion. We have compiled our favourite finds to bring texture, colour, fun and a touch of Kit Kemp to your home this Mothering Sunday…

Notecards and Envelopes
We just love the romance of sitting down and writing a letter to a loved one. My daughter Willow and I created these illustrated notecards and envelopes for just that occasion. They make the art of letter writing that little bit more special.
With spring on the horizon, it’s time to start thinking about getting our outdoor spaces ready. On Ham Yard Hotel’s terrace we hung these basket pendants in abundance for a cosy and atmospheric look on summer evenings.
It might not be something you can give this Mothering Sunday, but we have recently launched the pre-sale to my new book ‘Design Secrets’. Design Secrets is a unique, lively and informative masterclass which will become your touchstone for top tips, do’s and don’ts and creative projects to add a fresh and exciting feel to your living space. All our pre-orders include a complimentary Lost and Found book bag.

BRIGHT AND FUN LAMPSHADES
A gathered Ikat lampshade in the corner of a room is a fail safe way to make a dead space feel special and vibrant. Corner or no corner, we use cheerful and colourful lampshades wherever we can. We often have ours made bespoke with found textiles, but we recently came across this wonderful new collection from Matthew Williamson for Pooky Lighting. This Indian pink design is just wonderful.
AYALA BAR JEWELS
Jewels don’t just make appearances in my outfits or jewellery box, they often find themselves draped over a mirror or lamp.
Jewellery is always a perfect Mother’s Day treasure. One of my favourite designers is Ayala Bar. We enjoy her work so much at Firmdale we even framed her Frida Kahlo inspired shoot in one of our guest bedrooms at Covent Garden Hotel.
We think her collection of earrings are remarkable and the bolt of colour every outfit needs!

DELFT WOMAN PLATE
From cabinets filled with beautiful china to shelves carefully curated with ceramics, or a perspex box giving gravitas to a plate or bowl, we love to get creative with plates and pottery.
HAND PAINTED TREASURE BOX
Whether you’re using a larger piece as a coffee table, or you have a jewellery box placed on your nightstand, we think hand painted trunks and treasure boxes are one of those accessories that breathe life to a space. We found this delightful hand painted German folk art box at TAT which we think is just so special and detailed! Snap this up to fill with all your Mother’s Day cards and memories.
FINE CELL WORK CUSHION
When we think of spring, we think of zippy greens, blue skies and the coming of new florals. These gorgeous Fine Cell Work cushions have appeared in many of our favourite schemes. We just adore the little French knots that pop out from the overall delicacy of the design. Let it be the latest addition to your spring room scheme.

EGGS AND SOLDIERS
Breakfast in bed is an essential part of every Mother’s Day celebration. We have created this perfect little breakfast set for two so you can surprise Mum to a morning of champions. This adorable set includes two Mythical Creatures egg cups, mugs and 20cm plates which are perfect for hot buttered toast, alongside embroidered linen Mythical Creatures napkins.
KIT KEMP TRAY
A Mother’s Day breakfast in bed wouldn’t be complete without a glorious tray to serve it on. One of our latest designs are these Perspex trays filled with a selection of my favourite fabrics from my range with Christopher Farr.
SOMETHING EXTRA SPECIAL UNDER £500
Our little dog lamp has to be just about the best piece in every room – he always steals the show. With a chain stitched lampshade, this Kit Kemp Design Studio creation is a unique gift. You won’t find him anywhere else!
LA SAPEUR MINIATURE SCULPTURES
I adore sculptures, objects of curiosity, and building physical collections of artwork that go beyond what you can put on your walls. I found these figurative and wonderfully whimsical sculptures at the New Craftsmen recently and they reminded me so much of many pieces I own. Collecting a few of these would be a wonderful arrangement in any home, but even one is a strong enough accent in any space.
LARGE PATCHWORK QUILT
Recently we wrote a bit of a love letter to bedspreads and throws, they truly are a wonderful way to bring a bedroom scheme to life. We found this beautiful quilt on the V&A online shop. Handmade in India, its vibrancy is so brave and beguiling. It’s so important to support our favourite institutions during this time.
