London Craft Week

Although London Craft Week will look a little different this year, I am delighted to be involved with an In Conversation event, where I will be joined by leading ceramicist, Kate Malone and interior designer and dear friend, Nina Campbell.

The event will be live streamed via Zoom from the beautiful Drawing Room of Ham Yard Hotel.

Editor and podcast host of Material Matters, Grant Gibson will chair the discussion on the benefits of ceramics and creativity, the importance of craft – a subject very important to me, as well as exploring how best to collect ceramics.

The event will mark the launch of FiredUp4, which celebrates the work of the UK’s leading ceramic and visual artists and will fundraise for the provision of pottery studios. Led by Kate Malone, the exhibition and auction brings together 32 uniquely crafted pieces, each created out of 3kg of clay and will result with an online auction hosted by Maak, the leading auction house for ceramics on the 19 November.

As a lover of craft, in particular ceramics, I have been asked to choose my favourite pieces, a few of which you can see here:

I do love the touch and feel of a well-made piece. Each of these five works will be in view at Ham Yard Hotel during our In Conversation at 6.30pm on Thursday 1 October.
