This week I am in New York to install my latest project which has been months in the making – a Kit Kemp takeover of the loft space at Bergdorf Goodman, from April until August.

The loft space on the seventh floor of this iconic department store will be transformed into an immersive and vibrant wonderland with my furniture, fabrics, textiles and home accessories.

We have created three vignettes – a bedroom, drawing room, and dining room. The space will have the feel of a luxury hotel suite in the style of our New York hotels, The Whitby Hotel and Crosby Street Hotel.

Bergdorfs is such an exciting opportunity to have all my collaborations and designs in one place, under one roof. It is the first time I have had the chance to do this, especially in such an iconic place.

The collection includes an array of lighting, furniture, cushions, my new collection of china for Wedgwood, Sailor’s Farewell, and one-off treasures like our ‘Pippa’ hand-embroidered sofas and headboards collaged in vintage kimonos.

It will be open to the public a week today. I hope all our friends this side of the pond will have the chance to pop by!
