How We Use Bookend

Our ‘Bookend’ fabric in collaboration with Christopher Farr is one of our most popular designs. In its varying colourways, this fabric can be used as a linen or wool backcloth, which in combination with the embroidered arrow motif has a textured and three dimensional feel. The irregularities of the arrows create movement, making it playful and contemporary, and quite often the star of the show.

We upholstered this wooden bench with ‘Bookends’, marrying its ornate history with our modern day motif. The cushions are a combination of our different fabrics for Christopher Farr, adding to the contrast between the rustic wood and brighter more jewel-like colours.

Come and join us as we explore the many interpretations of ‘Bookend’ in its various colourways…

Hot Pink
Hot pink is our favourite colourway. We can’t resist its vibrant and energetic tones that work in even the most seemingly complex of settings. A fresh and unusual mix of pink and green, it elevates any room from simple to stand out.

We have used it in our Prince private event room at Crosby Street Hotel in combination with our Tall Trees wallpaper. These two elements speak to each other, creating a rather magical conversation.

Ruby
This combination of bright pink and red creates a real statement. The embroidery is a wash of zingy tones and the reds, pinks, yellows and greens all integrate in the most beautiful way.

Orange
You will also find a brighter version of ‘Bookend’ in this room at Ham Yard Hotel. The spicy hot orange colourway packs an unexpected punch, moving the scheme away from something that might have been more expected. The sofa works perfectly with the earthy green colours of the surrounding walling.

Navy
A bold room with solid blues and reds, suite 809 at Crosby Street Hotel uses this fabric as the protagonist of the room. The headboard is upholstered in a vertical application of ‘Bookends’ which creates a calming presence. By using it on the end of bed stool we created a thread between the pieces.

The charm of this fabric is seeing the irregularities of it up close, however, when seen from afar it looks like small waves gently cascading across the backcloth.

A reverse version with a navy background and light blue embroidery can be found on a handsome tub chair at Ham Yard Hotel.

We always go the extra mile to create unique and detailed storytelling within our designs. This ‘Bookend’ rug echoes the joyful spirit of the fabric and we had great fun using it at The Whitby Hotel.

Chocolate
The earthy tones in this scheme have a gentle softness about them. A vibrancy is brought forth by the happy yellows and spring greens that run through the chocolate colourway of ‘Bookends’ on the sofa. A ginger linen lines the walls which pairs perfectly with the chocolate earth browns on the sofa.

Our ‘Bookend’ fabric is so versatile that we have also used it in our perspex trays and fabric lined mirrors. The perfect home accessories, they will add a touch of personality to any room.

We hope you have enjoyed seeing the many ways to use our ‘Bookend’ fabric.
