Water, as an elemental force, holds a special place in our design philosophy, lending a sense of fluidity and grace to our creations. On today’s blog, join us as we delve into the myriad of ways we integrate water into our designs, both literally and symbolically.

We often use materials like glass, polished stone, and reflective surfaces to emulate the qualities of water, infusing rooms with a sense of movement and tranquillity. Shown below, Tony Cragg’s captivating piece ‘Constant Change’ graces the lobby at Haymarket Hotel. Its fluid form invites viewers on a contemplative journey, its shape-shifting with each rotation.

Textures reminiscent of water—such as flowing fabrics and rippled patterns—find their place in upholstery, rugs, and wall coverings, imbuing spaces with a serene sophistication. Fermoie’s wave-patterned fabric, adorning our walls, envelops guests in sinuous comfort, inviting relaxation.

Incorporating water features into interiors not only adds visual intrigue but also provides a serene respite from urban chaos. At our Haymarket Hotel’s pool, the gentle murmur of water creates an oasis of calm amidst the city’s hustle and bustle.

Artworks, sculptures, and accessories strategically placed throughout spaces reinforce the water theme, forging a deeper connection with nature. We’re particularly enamoured with Collin Millington’s stitch artwork, inspired by his sailor background, which infuses our spaces with fluidity and grace.

Our ‘Sailors Farewell’ china collection, with its whimsical tales of the sea depicted against watery backgrounds, adds a touch of folklore to any dining table or tea ceremony.
