As anticipation builds for this year’s WOW!house at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, we find ourselves reflecting on what has become one of the most inspiring and collaborative events in the design calendar. It feels like only yesterday that we unveiled our own room, filled with colour, pattern and personality, and yet here we are, celebrating the fifth year of this extraordinary creative showcase.
When we first took part, WOW!house was already full of promise: a bold concept bringing together world-class designers, makers and brands under one roof, all in support of meaningful philanthropic causes. What we perhaps did not fully expect was the energy it would generate, the way each room would tell its own distinct story, and how visitors would move through the house with a real sense of discovery at every turn.
Looking back at our 2022 room (which you can revisit here), we remember the joy of layering textiles, artworks and objects to create a space that felt imaginative yet personal. It was a celebration of craftsmanship and individuality, values that remain central to everything we do. We are also delighted that this project has since found a new life in our latest book, Design Stories, where it stands as a testament to the spirit of collaboration that defines WOW!house.
What makes WOW!house so special is not just the rooms themselves, but the people behind them. Each year brings together an inspiring line-up of designers and sponsors, all pushing boundaries and showcasing the very best of contemporary interiors. The level of talent involved never ceases to impress, and this year promises to be no exception. As alumni, proud ‘WOWzers’, as the team so brilliantly puts it, we feel incredibly honoured to have been part of this journey. The event has grown into something truly remarkable, drawing thousands of visitors and shining a spotlight on both design excellence and important charitable initiatives.
