Living with Heart of Oak

Day to Day

Discover how Heart of Oak weaves warmth, charm and effortless style through every corner of a room...

Some fabrics naturally lend themselves to a layered approach, revealing their character gradually as they move through a space. Heart of Oak is one of those designs, quietly confident, with a rhythm that feels both familiar and uplifting.

The pattern itself has a softness: intertwining leaves forming irregular hearts that feel almost sketched by hand. Printed on a weighty herringbone twill, the texture gives the design a gentle depth, allowing the colours to shift subtly with the light. There is nothing flat or overly formal about it; instead, it carries an ease that makes it wonderfully adaptable.

In our bedrooms, Heart of Oak is often introduced on the headboard, where it brings a calm, grounding presence. It gently anchors the space, tying everything together without ever overpowering it, setting the tone rather than demanding attention.

From there, the fabric begins to unfold across the space. Cushions offer an opportunity for a more relaxed composition, layering the scheme through repetition rather than contrast. The effect is gentle and considered, adding softness and depth without overwhelming the room.

Smaller details play their part just as thoughtfully. A tray placed on an ottoman or beside the bed introduces a touch of colour in a way that feels both practical and intentional. It is never purely decorative, but part of the room’s overall rhythm. Even the remnants are given new purpose. Patchwork pieces, such as our Willow Bear, are created from off-cuts. Each one is entirely unique, pieced together in a way that celebrates the fabric’s colour and character while embracing a more sustainable approach.

What emerges is not a single statement, but a quiet continuity. Heart of Oak moves effortlessly between these elements, tying them together with warmth, texture and a gentle, enduring charm.
