It is no secret that at our Design Studio we have always believed that fabric is far more than something simply to sit on. Instead, fabric becomes a storytelling tool that turns spaces into homes full of life and warmth. Join us as we explore a different take on how we use fabrics to wrap it up.
Furniture
With its deep buttoning, generous rolled arms and timeless proportions, the Chesterfield sofa is one of our signature pieces across many rooms. Its distinctive leg detail is an important part of its character and by wrapping the fabric all the way down to the floor we soften and unify the silhouette. In this residence, the striped fabric enhances the tailored quality of the design, creating a seamless and considered look that feels both elegant and inviting.
A wrapped chest of drawers in our Over the Moon fabric with Andrew Martin, seen in this room at Covent Garden Hotel, or the animal fabric used in the room below at Haymarket Hotel, turns a practical piece into something tactile, personal and entirely unique.
Artwork
Artwork is the final element that brings a room together. From well-known artists to those waiting to be discovered, we take pride in the many ways artworks can bring creativity and light into a space. In our showroom for GP & J Baker we framed a collection of fabrics from the range, creating a conversation between what sits inside the frame and what surrounds it.
Walls
Wrapped panels and upholstered walls create rooms that feel cocooning, generous and alive with pattern. They absorb sound, soften light and add an irresistible sense of warmth.
Whether it is a striped fabric that evokes a tailored look or a pattern that begins to tell a story as you enter, dressing walls with fabric provides the canvas on which to create an entire atmosphere.
Mannequins
A signature feature in many of our rooms, mannequins bring a playful touch to a scheme. Upholstered to sit within the design, they become another decorative element and a point of personality.
As you can see, there are many ways to extend and explore the use of fabric. After all, the most memorable rooms are the ones that feel fully dressed, right down to the smallest details.
