A square room is ideal because it naturally feels balanced and easy to work with. Its proportions make furniture layouts straightforward, without awkward corners or wasted space. It suits bedrooms and living areas particularly well, creating a sense of order, proportion and visual clarity.
In fabric, checks act as a stabilising pattern. They work particularly well on upholstery and curtains, where repetition introduces a sense of order and balance. We often use them to offset more expressive elements such as florals or bold colour combinations.
