Step inside the Clementine Suite at The Whitby Hotel, a vibrant retreat designed for guests to unwind, enjoy and relax. Nestled high above the city streets, this suite features floor-to-ceiling windows and inviting outdoor spaces that frame sweeping skyline views and grand cityscapes. With its wraparound balcony and double-aspect seating area, guests can enjoy both the morning and afternoon sun, making it a truly special place to retreat or entertain.
In the drawing room, we created two distinct zones: one for dining and the other for lounging. The dining area features a sophisticated antique table surrounded by smartly upholstered chairs. An antique mirrored wall and beaded hanging lamps cast a gentle, atmospheric glow, creating the feeling of an intimate urban oasis.
Look closely and you will notice a striking Peter Dunham print in vivid orange on the inside of each chair, adding pattern and colour that enlivens the space. The soft red linen walls draw you into a warm and romantic retreat that flows effortlessly from the living area into the bedroom.
A beautiful embroidered fabric by Pierre Frey lines the curtains, its textured and exotic design bringing energy and life to the room. The same motif is echoed on the Kit’s Wing Chair, tracing its silhouette and adding a sense of craft and detail. Above the chair hangs a delicate hand-sewn embroidery depicting a vibrant Colombian landscape. Its cheerful colours cast a soft glow across the room, beautifully framed in sleek acrylic that adds a contemporary touch.
Leading into the bedroom, a grand Ruby headboard upholstered in the Pierre Frey fabric becomes the focal point. Nickel studding accentuates its graceful curves, adding polish and sophistication. The bed valance, in our GP & J Baker fabric Rainstorm, introduces a refined stripe that grounds the palette, paired with an end of bed stool in a versatile wool that ties the tones together beautifully. Beside the bed hang two artworks in brightly coloured frames that sit perfectly alongside the Pierre Frey embroidery. Their playful spirit is echoed by the mannequin, a simple yet striking detail that becomes a work of art in itself.
Nestled in the corner, a cosy outdoor dining area offers the perfect setting for family and friends to gather, surrounded by the hum of the city below and the skyline above.
This suite has something for everyone, from its thoughtful antiques and textured walls to its vibrant fabrics and warm, layered lighting. We hope you love it as much as we do and that it inspires you to bring a touch of colour, comfort and craftsmanship into your own home.
