Fabric Focus: Time Teller

Day to Day

Explore the different Time Teller colourways and how we’ve used them throughout our interiors...

Our Time Teller fabric is one of the standout designs from our Christopher Farr collection and has quickly become one of our all-time favourites. Also available as a wallpaper, Time Teller is a joyful celebration of rhythm and ritual — a design that ticks like a clock yet dances like a parade.

We set out to create something that feels both ancient and timeless, yet joyfully fresh. Time Teller draws inspiration from nomadic motifs, storytelling textiles and the kinds of markings you might find etched into a well-travelled caravan. Full of linear narratives and symbolic geometry, the design comes to life in rich reds, inky blues, saffron golds and just a hint of mischief woven into its symmetry.

On today’s blog, we’re excited to share the different Time Teller colourways and how we’ve used them throughout our interiors.

In Residence 23 at Ham Yard Hotel, our Willow sofa is upholstered in the Berry colourway of Time Teller. The soft, chalky tones allow the piece to sit peacefully within the room, while still creating a sense of intrigue in this vibrant and expressive living space.

In the adjoining room, we have used the Inigo colourway for both the sofas and walling, creating a rich and cohesive backdrop that adds depth and drama.

With Maison Margaux, we’ve created Time Teller table linens in the Berry colourway, including tablecloths, placemats and napkins. These pieces add a vibrant touch to any indoor or outdoor table setting, especially during the bright, sun-soaked days of summer.

In the event spaces at The Soho Hotel, we used the Indigo colourway of Time Teller to dress the walls with confidence. The vertical geometric stripe in shades of deep blue, indigo and teal evokes the texture and rhythm of handwoven textiles. This wallpaper adds depth and visual interest, creating a bold yet grounding backdrop for a curated interior full of character.

In the newly refurbished Residence 16 at Ham Yard Hotel, we created a bespoke Hot Pink colourway featuring deep reds, warm rusts nd a range of pinks. The rhythmic pattern brings warmth, movement and a handcrafted sensibility. When wrapped around the drawing room walls, the fabric creates a space that feels both cocooning and uplifting.

We paired it with our Runaway striped weave for GP & J Baker on the upholstery, layering colour and texture to create a space full of charm, character and surprise.

If you love Time Teller as much as we do, you can bring it into your home with our Acrylic trays featuring the design, available now on Shop Kit Kemp. They’re a vibrant, functional way to add a splash of storytelling to your coffee or dressing table.

We hope you’ve enjoyed exploring the many ways Time Teller can be used. Don’t forget to tag us on @Kitkempdesignthread to show us how you’ve styled this joyful design in your own space.
