Every plant, flower or tree found in the forest begins as a root form. From there, it absorbs life-giving nutrients from the soil, allowing it to grow into something magnificent. At Dorset Square Hotel, the lobby surrounds guests with depictions of various saplings; an expressive tangle of lines that mimic intertwining roots underground. It speaks to a hidden world beneath our feet, full of life.
Inspired by an overgrown, lush forest, this playroom at a private residential project in upstate New York is dressed in enchanted woods, brimming with stories and magic. With sturdy trunks and winding branches, the trees climb the walls, creating a space where the imagination is free to roam.
From the countryside to the city centre, you’ll find a similar sense of soul in one of the event spaces at The Whitby Hotel, where an organic table takes centre stage. It anchors the room with its untouched, honest form, sparking conversation and connection.
Our multi-decade (and multi-generational) collaboration with Schotten & Hansen is a true celebration of nature’s narrative. From a fallen tree in the Bavarian forest, we crafted a sinuous, sculptural tree bench; carved with reverence, transforming raw form into functional art. A tête-à -tête, revealed within the language of the organic form.
A tree itself, reimagined into whimsical, vibrant totems, creates height and drama as it takes on its new form. Each piece is carefully carved from raw material, rich with character, cleverly stacked and drenched in vibrant colour. From Germany to Manhattan, these pieces are not just furniture; they’re storytellers.
