Earth Day

Day to Day

Discover a few ways to bring a little more magic into your space, all while treading lightly on the planet...

As Earth Day approaches on 22nd April, it offers a timely opportunity to reflect on how we live, create and curate beauty in our surroundings while honouring the planet we call home. At our Design Studio, thoughtful design is at the core of everything we do. We believe in choosing with intention, embracing the handmade and one-of-a-kind over the mass-produced and investing in pieces that are made to last.

This Earth Day, we are reminded that sustainability does not have to mean compromise. In fact, conscious living can be vibrant, imaginative and full of soul. A more mindful approach to design can still reflect your personal style while remaining expressive, unique and rooted in purpose. We are excited to share ideas to help you bring a little more magic into your space, all while treading lightly on the planet.

Choose Natural Dyes and Sustainable Fibres

When selecting upholstery, curtains or walling fabric, we favour natural fibres such as linen, cotton and wool. These materials not only reduce the environmental impact of production, but also offer superior texture, breathability and a timeless sense of character.

Reupholster Rather Than Replace

Before parting with a beloved but worn piece of furniture, consider reupholstering. Breathing new life into well-made pieces helps reduce waste and offers the chance to reimagine something you already love in a fresh and creative way.

Support Makers Who Champion Sustainability

Look to artisans and suppliers who embrace eco-conscious methods. From responsible forestry practices to low-emission finishes and ethically sourced materials, these details make a meaningful difference. Choosing sustainably sourced wood for furniture and flooring allows beauty to coexist with environmental responsibility.

Here are a few of our favourite makers who share this ethos:

Fermoie – Meet the Maker
Fermoie Sustainability
Schotten & Hansen – Nature First

Decorate with Living Things

Bring a sense of life into your home through fresh flowers, indoor plants or a simple herb garden on your windowsill. These living touches not only enhance air quality, but also add movement, colour and a feeling of harmony with nature.

This Earth Day, we are reminded of our enduring passion for creating spaces that not only look beautiful but feel good to live in. Spaces that bring joy and comfort, while being kind to the world around us. Let’s continue to design with care, creativity and respect for the place we all call home.
