Round and Round in a Circle

Day to Day

Explore how we have brought the playful energy of circles into our designs...

Circles bring a joyful energy to interiors, dancing through a space with a playful warmth that welcomes and flows. They soften sharp edges, create a sense of movement and invite a feeling of harmony, making every corner feel more dynamic. On today’s blog, explore how we have brought the playful energy of circles into our designs.

Textiles with circular patterns are like confetti for the senses, each ring offering a burst of delight and infusing the space with rhythmic energy. Whether it’s a bold geometric, a playful polka dot or a delicate floral pattern, they bring a touch of surprise and charm.

Below, we incorporated painted circles to evoke simplicity, rhythm and an organic flow of colour and form. These shapes also symbolise the desire to blur the boundaries between fine art and decorative art. We love working with Tess Newall, who captures the Bloomsbury essence with her hand-rendered, imperfect charm, bringing a sense of artistic spontaneity and playful elegance to our spaces.

Margaret O’Rorke’s glowing artworks at the Refuel Restaurant at The Soho Hotel are delicate swirls of porcelain, shaped organically to infuse the space with a unique sense of movement and energy. Each piece breathes life into the room, creating a captivating whirling rhythm.

Plates are tiny canvases, each one a work of art. Eating from them becomes more than a meal, it’s a story, infusing joy and surprise into every moment. We love curating a collection of plates, adding depth and a whisper of nostalgia to our spaces.

Inspired by the treasured works of artist Robina Jack, we’ve woven her enchanting designs onto fabric and wallpaper with GP & J Baker, wrapping walls and furniture in the magic of her circular world.

Circular windows, like a ship’s porthole but oversized, add a sense of curiosity and drama to a space. Whether framing a lush garden or a skyline view, they transform a simple wall into a work of art.

Why settle for a traditional chandelier when you can have one that floats like a cluster of shimmering bubbles? We love weaving organic textures into our interiors, from round wicker pendants to Martha Freud’s porcelain tulip lights. Their delicate forms dance in a circular glow, like sunlit stars twinkling in the sky.

Mirrors reflect the soul. They capture light and whisper depth, creating the illusion of endless space. Round mirrors, with their soft curves, add a gentle warmth to any room, inviting quiet moments of reflection and possibility.

In every corner, circles invite us to pause, breathe and revel in the beauty of movement and harmony. We hope you’ve felt inspired to embrace the organic flow of circles in your spaces.
