In the kitchen, hooks can serve as both a practical storage solution and a charming design element. In my own kitchen, I’ve chosen metal hooks to enhance a rustic, vintage aesthetic. They blend seamlessly with the overall design while providing easy access for pots, pans and utensils. The subtle touch of hanging cookware adds a lived-in warmth, making the space feel inviting and encouraging gatherings around the stove.
Underneath a bar or seating area, hooks can be a game-changer. We subtly incorporate them to offer guests a place to hang their bags—no more awkwardly placing them on the floor or holding them in your lap. This small but thoughtful detail enhances comfort and convenience while maintaining the space’s clean lines and functional design.
In many of our hotel rooms, we love the romantic allure of canopy beds. The addition of hooks to secure tiebacks for the canopy can make all the difference. These small elements, though not always immediately noticeable, can elevate the entire look, contributing to the overall whimsical and refined atmosphere of the room.
The bathroom is perhaps the most important place for hooks. A designated spot for a damp towel or cosy bathrobe can transform the tidiness of a space. We like to position hooks behind bathroom doors, keeping them hidden but easily accessible. For an extra touch of elegance, beautifully crafted hooks in brass, nickel or ceramic can add both style and function.
Finally, in our Design Studio, hooks are perfect for hanging our beautiful fabrics. This not only allows us to display and easily access textures and colours, but it also brings an element of inspiration into the space, making the design process even more enjoyable.
