Harvesting Style

Day to Day

Explore how we have used nature's bounty to inspire our designs...

As September marks the transition between summer and autumn, it also heralds the end of the harvest season, bringing with it an abundance of fresh vegetables from gardens and farms alike. Today on the blog, we are celebrating how we have used nature’s bounty to inspire our designs.

The corridors of Dorset Square Hotel are graced with our very own wallpaper design, ‘La Racine’. Drawing inspiration from 1950s French botanical posters, this print features an array of vegetable illustrations. Its whimsical charm evokes the essence of countryside living, allowing your imagination to drift into the wilderness even in the heart of the city.

This enchanting wallpaper also played a starring role in our collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman, where we created a ‘Secret Garden’ pop-up in the department store – an inviting space where nature was brought indoors.

Instead of flowers, why not embrace the season by decorating your home and dining tables with vegetables? Gourds and pumpkins, with their fairytale charm and unique shapes, add a whimsical touch to any setting. Best of all, they require minimal effort to arrange!

In the garden, there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing the fruits of your labour come to life. Our chefs at The Soho Hotel, Ham Yard Hotel, and Crosby Street Hotel enjoy the privilege of harvesting seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs from their rooftop gardens—creating sustainable oases in the bustling cities of London and New York.

Back to our interior designs, we love prints that tell a story and spark conversation. Michael Szell’s ‘Carnival’ print, created in collaboration with Christopher Farr, is a celebration of nature’s richness. Its playful botanical depictions of pomegranates bring a fresh, vibrant feel to the Conservatory at Haymarket Hotel.

We especially enjoy using the ‘Carnival’ print on headboards, inviting guests to sleep surrounded by nature’s sweet nectar. The bold scale of the pattern pairs perfectly with the geometric design of our ‘Ozone’ fabric, also created with Christopher Farr.

Jim Thompson’s ‘Garden Party’ fabric, featuring an abundance of citrus fruit, injects a lively, Mediterranean spirit into any room. It helps create an inviting atmosphere that feels like a story waiting to unfold.

We hope this inspires you to appreciate the beauty of nature’s offerings this harvest season and shows how you can infuse your space with the magic of natural produce to create a memorable environment.
