The Radical Beauty exhibition coincides with the Monet x Frankenthaler display, which brings together two seminal works by Claude Monet and Helen Frankenthaler to reveal similarities in the artists’ ambition and approach. Make sure you don’t miss it!
Mark Hearld, Raucous Invention: The Joy of Making
Mark Hearld, visual artist and printmaker from York has created a new body of work including collages, prints, collage sculptures and a collage mural comprised with a series of individual images. Each image works as a solo piece, but when placed together they create an incredible large-scale work.
The exhibition at Yorkshire Sculpture Park is open until February 6th and it’s the perfect excuse for a weekend getaway.
Rachel Jones – SMIIILLLLEEEE
Full of power, colour and character, Rachel Jones’ paintings investigate a sense of self as a visual, visceral experience with the motifs of mouths and teeth suggesting vivid inner landscapes. For her, abstraction becomes a way of expressing the intangible. Her use of brush strokes and composition are inspiring. The exhibition at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac in London is open until the February 5th.
Tate Britain: Walter Sickert
The Tate Britain will open its doors to a new exhibition on Walter Sickert’s best paintings on April 28th. The German-born British painter was part of the Camden Town Group of Post-Impressionist artists. His distinctive and radical approach to setting a subject matter made him one of the most important and influential British artists in avant-garde art in the mid to late 20th century. Helen Frankenthaler: Radical Beauty
Between now and April 18th, Dulwich Picture Gallery are presenting the first major UK exhibition of woodcuts by leading Abstract Expressionist, Helen Frankenthaler.
