Day to DayFor the first time autumn hosts Chelsea Flower Show with a fresh floral feast bringing with it some ‘cooler’ treats. What better opportunity to tickle your natural senses with floral inspired schemes and afternoon tea at Number Sixteen - a mere walk away...
The world’s greatest flower show will be held for the first time ever this September with the usual cutting-edge garden design and fabulous floral displays: The RHS Chelsea Flower Show (21 – 26 September).
In its 108 years, it’s the first time autumn hosts the show with a fresh floral feast bringing with it some ‘cooler’ treats. What better opportunity to tickle your natural senses with photographs of our own garden as well as floral inspired designs at Number Sixteen – a mere walk away.
Gardens at the 2021 event will be alive with inspiration, colour and innovation. The timing is the perfect opportunity to show off dahlias and gladioli during their natural flowering period. Fuchsias are looking fabulous as are late hydrangeas.
Number Sixteen is certainly no stranger to a florals, as seen here in some of our favourite schemes that celebrate the power of the flower.
In room 201, the curvaceous shaped headboard has been upholstered in the glorious ‘Bombay’ fabric by Raoul Textiles. This hand printed design exudes joy with its large scale paisley print in fuchsia pinks and happy yellow saffron tones. We love the individual plants and flowers inside each paisley print.
Our love of florals knows no bounds and in celebration of the show’s colourful displays, we have been inspired to create a one off Chelsea Flower Show inspired afternoon tea. From 21 – 26th September, join us in amongst the hydrangeas, roses and camellias at Number Sixteen to indulge in a selection of floral inspired cakes. Savour sweet treats from raspberry, lychee and rose macarons and apple and elderflower choux buns to mango and jasmine tartlets and chocolate and cherry flower pots, accompanied by traditional sandwiches, savouries and homemade scones with a glass of Rathfinny Rosé.
In room 203, we’ve brought the outside in with our ‘Tasha’s Trip’ fabric for Christopher Farr Cloth. The repeat gently cascades down the plain linen curtains whilst also adorning our smartly dressed mannequin. The theme is continued with the artwork behind, it’s simplicity allowing the intricate design of Tasha’s Trip to shine.
Indoor gardening will be a key focus at the Chelsea Flower Show 2021 with their new ‘House Plant Studios’ category. Here at Number Sixteen, we offer blooms as soon as you enter our doors, throughout our guest areas and through to the award-winning gardens.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this world-renowned exhibition. We for one can’t wait to revel in the show’s autumn colours with a blaze of a golden yellows, fiery tones and crunchy leaves underfoot.
