We recently told you about our great sources of inspiration, including the fantastic challenge Firmdale Hotels are sponsoring – the row to the Atlantic as quickly as possible!
The 2020 Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge is now just over the half way point and we are delighted to share that the ‘On Shoulders of Giants’ team we are supporting are currently in first place, with less than 1000NM to go!
The team have been training for nearly two years for this challenge and are raising money for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, supporting sufferers of Motor Neuron Disease and Pursuing Independent Paths which supports adults with learning disabilities. Considered the world’s toughest row, the race started on Saturday 12th December from La Gomera in the Canary Islands and is set to finish mid January, 3000 miles away in Antigua. The current record is 29 days, 14 hours and 34 minutes set by “The Four Oarsman” in the 2017 race.
They have faced challenging weather conditions recently but we are routing for them and are sending them all the best of luck to cross the finish line in record time! Follow them @onshouldersofgiants to track their journey.
