Woven Ribbon

‘Woven Ribbon’ is one of my recent fabric designs for Christopher Farr Cloth. It was inspired by the nomadic blankets used for centuries around the world, from the Middle East to North America. It is a play of colour and pattern with a mixture of yarn, cotton, wool & Alpaca. This mix of threads has made this fabric perfect for upholstery, it is strong and durable yet interesting and elegant.

As you step into the Suffolk Suite at Haymarket Hotel, you are transported to a world beyond London. This scheme has a countryside charm but with a contemporary twist.

The joyful dressing room is lined in ‘Over The Moon’ in denim, also from my collection for Andrew Martin. The strong, intense walls are calmed by the soft, floral of ‘Tasha’s Trip’ on the curtains and the elegant yet robust ‘Woven Ribbon’ on the Handle chair. This time in the Indigo colourway, with the top third in a bright, punchy yellow leather. The chair adds freshness and texture to this powerful, little room.

We used ‘Woven Ribbon’ in the Aqua colourway on the sofa, pulling together the greens and blues of the fabrics around the room. The sharp yellow leather pipe gives a crisp edge to the sofa and complements the yellow of my ‘Hedgerow’ fabric on the Andrew Martin chair.

Covent Garden Hotel’s Brasserie Max plays host to soft, earthy tones which contrast against the dark wooden panelling around the room. ‘Woven Ribbon’ in the natural colourway has been upholstered onto the Min Tub chairs, with Seemakrish’s ‘Alta’ fabric on the back of the chair.

In room 205 at Crosby Street Hotel, the Aqua colourway has been upholstered onto the sofa where it adds texture and the graphic zig zag pattern contrasts nicely with the floral walling.

The Handle chairs also sport ‘Woven Ribbon’, this time with a smart green leather on the top third. The chairs look tailored and they work perfectly with the Robert Kime fabric on the curtains.

In our Oak Leaf Suite at Ham Yard Hotel, our ‘Willow’ sofa in the drawing room is also covered in ‘Woven Ribbon’. We added a yellow Samuel & Sons leather pipe to give it a tailored feel.

With four colourways to choose from, this fabric really has got something special. It can bring a scheme together, it is fresh, it is calm, it is earthy and altogether very intriguing.
