With 2019 coming to an end, it is time to reflect on all the wonderful things we designed and made over the year.

In 2019 the Kit Kemp Design Team has completed over 80 room refurbishments across 10 hotels, written over 150 blog posts, created 2 installations at Bergdorf Goodman’s in New York, 1 bathroom pop-up at C.P. Hart complete with bespoke tile designs, 1 FOCUS stand edit with Blithfield, 1 Firmdale Academy coffee shop, training bar and training bedroom; and designed over 20 bespoke products for Shop Kit Kemp.

We are proud of all the schemes we have created and are delighted we could contribute to interior design experiences.

We launched my third book ‘Design Thread’, had a discussion with Interiors Editor Carole Annett for Country & Town House magazine’s weekly interiors podcast and took on the guest editorship for the American magazine Hospitality Design, amongst other things!

I have taken part in the London Design Festival with a talk at the V&A, formed part of a Craft Panel discussion at the Royal Academy and spoken about how Bloomsbury design has influenced my work at Charleston in Sussex on a warm summer evening.

The Design Team has made bread at the Firmdale Academy, been to Charleston on a day out, to Buckingham Palace for a Heritage of London Trust lecture on Baroque Architecture by the Duke of Gloucester, to Art Basel in Miami, and explored places such as South Africa, India, Papua New Guinea and Stockholm…

We love making beautiful things and sharing the love, so this festive season we have contributed material and our time to produce tablecloths for The St Cuthbert’s Centre, who offer a space for vulnerable people to have a shared meal in a safe environment.

In 2020 we have even more exciting projects lined up, first and foremost our new hotel in Tribeca New York, which we will be designing throughout the year, as well as more collaborations with Bergdorf Goodman in New York.

Happy New Year!

What a year it’s been! We are looking forward to continue designing, discovering & inspiring in 2020. For now, we wish you a wonderful start to the New Year and a fulfilling 2020.
