Next Monday, I will be in conversation with Giles Kime at one of my favourite London landmarks, the V&A Museum.

To mark the occasion, we thought it was only right to make some special cut out designs to customise our wing chairs, so we can sit in comfort and discuss the colourful world of interior design in style.

I have used one of my favourite fabrics at the moment, Pierre Frey’s plain linen ‘Arsene’, as a fresh background against a selection of moon wools for the cut outs and piping.

You will have the chance to see the chairs in person at my talk on Monday 16th September. I will discuss my new book ‘Design Thread’ and the ways we create handcrafted spaces which pique curiosity. To find out more CLICK HERE

Mimi Du Biarritz is a dear friend and constant inspiration – we were inspired by her cut-out framed paper works. These colourful and simple designs are based on Matisse’s cut-outs. In his late sixties, when ill health prevented Henri Matisse from painting, he began to cut into painted paper, inventing a new medium.
